Her Royal Highness Raiko Gorgophone, Queen of Siam

After weeks of waiting, complaining and trying to speak to Swedes (which is surprisingly hard), Dell sent over an awesome technician to install my much needed Hard Drive.

Thank God.

The rebirth of my portable baby was a good chance to give it a new name.

Her Royal Highness, Raiko Gorgophone, Queen of Siam.

Raiko (get it RAY-ko tee hee hee) is a japanese girls name meaning "next child", which fits because this is the second time this pc is new, and Gorgophone is just awesome. It's meaning is grim slayer. Which is more br00tal than Vlad the Impaler.

Oh and its a queen because I've always wanted to say that I am sitting on the Queen.

Also, add personas to firefox and get the LOLface (awesome smiley) skin. The Screenshot is related.

The Joy of Comparisons!

YAW MAN! WUT UP!?

Just thought I would post some random thoughts I've been having lately.

- I have concluded that these bands are very, very good: Modest Mouse and Ogre You Asshole. I've loved Modest Mouse for a long time but I sorta re-discovered them. I felt the joy of listening to their albums for the first time, again, which as you should be able to conclude, is hard to do.
Ogre You Asshole is a Japanese band and actually sounds quite a bit like Modest Mouse. They have catchy songs that you want to sing along to, but can't because it is sung in moon-language.

- I like the Norwegian stereotypical soss. This is rare for elitist hipster scum like myself, but listen to this. Soss are douchebags, but better. Instead of heading out do "da club" to pick up tanorexic semi-women, soss prefer to sit in the sun, bathing in their riches, their strangely homosexual clothing and their bad taste in (mostly) bad taste in music.

Also, just compare the two pictures, it really isn't that hard to decide.

The Nine...

Posted by Picasa

This is a 3x3 of my favorite 9 albums in no particular order. Hard decisions were made in the making of this picture, but I decided that these are my favorite whole albums. I chose these based that they are all round great, not just a few songs. All these albums have great songs and multiple memorable moments.

They are as follows. Left to right.

1. Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
2. of Montreal - Hissing Fauna, are you the Destroyer?
3. The Cat Empire - Two Shoes
4. Kleenex Girl Wonder - Ponyoak
5. Pink Floyd - Piper at the Gates of Dawn
6. Modest Mouse - Good News for People who Love Bad News
7. Brian Eno - Another Green World
8. The Unicorns - Who Will Cut our Hair when we're Gone?
9. CAKE - Comfort Eagle

Hard Weeks Ahead AKA Me Complaining About Things

Tentamen.

The "mock exams" that count for a large part of our final grade, the painful week simply shoving the fact in our face that another year has ran by and the torture of sitting inside for 7 days studying while joyous youngster frolic in the fresh spring heat.

Tomorrow (approximately 10.5 hours from now) I will in a small magenta colored classroom, staring down at a terrifying document known as fransktentamen. My french 1 exam is going to be boring and a failure. Because, as I am writing this, precious seconds get wasted that I could be spending writing down french words with no translation.

My weekend is going to be busy doing 2 things. Practicing our play for my drama from the crack of dawn (10 am counts as the crack of dawn during the weekend) and studying "theoretical mathematics".

Monday will probably be wasted away until around 11 pm when I realize that maybe I should do some preparation for the Norwegian exam.

Tuesday will be spent weeping over how mind numbingly boring, yet ironically, horribly stressful the exam is. Then I will start preparing for the English exam. I want/physically need a perfect score on the English and our teacher is hard to impress. I think i will make an entire post about our teachers some other time.

Wednesday will be spent practicing The Spanish Fly (my drama group's next performance) and perhaps fearing the big dark hole my English teacher will put me in if I don't come to school with 10 dictionaries, 20 non-Wikipedia pages from the internet, 2 spare memory sticks, an extra pair of pants in case I piss myself in fear and an emergency number on my telephone for when I try poisoning myself if something doesn't save.

Thursday is the English exam and I think you can guess how I feel about it.

Friday. HERP DERP MATH DURR HURRF. I really don't want to take this exam because I really, really, really need to do well. My math grades are all over the place and this could make or break my grade. I also have to dress up as a rabbit (technically a hare) and be mistaken for the Easter Bunny.

Saturday will be yet another day of paid humiliation when I go to work. As a Bunny rabbit.

Sunday....ummm...Could it posssibly be?....is it possible that....I don't have anything to do on Sunday? Of course not. I have the big fat dutch project I need to work on. Plus practice for the play.

Will I survive this long tiresome week of exams and little social interaction? Yes. Will I enjoy it? No.

Final thought: writing this blog has been the best form of distraction and procrastination ever. I'm going to go back to writing french words and reading about the lonely nerd Guillaume.

Edit thought: I hate the words physical and inertia because it seems like there are hundreds of ways to spell them.

I Saw the Original Pokémon Movie, 10 Years Ago ;_;

Good evening dear Children.

The time is 10:05, April 13th, 2009.

Did you know that 1999 was 10 years ago? that means the following things are ten years old:

* The Original apple iBook.
* The "1st" star wars movie
* The Matrix
* The first Pokémon movie
* The use of the Euro €
* Mahir Cagir (Hint: Proto-Borat)
http://www.istanbul.tc/mahir/mahir/
What is even more shocking? think about this question quickly:

How long ago was 1970?

That's right, almost 40 years ago.

I added this cover by Stone Gossard of the Prince classic 1999, which i have as a vinyl single :3

Triple Ray Extravaganza and why I like Picasa.

Here I am with a pair of Ray-Ban Clubmasters. Striking a Ray Charles pose. With random effects from Picasa.

Picasa is really tons of fun. Just seeing what photos look like with different effects. I am surprised by how well the "I'm Feeling Lucky" button works. You should download it and play with it. It's also great for simple organization of your photos, pictures and, in my case at least, your extensive horror manga collection.

Oh, and did I mention it can directly upload to blogger?

Short Skirt / Long Jacket

This wonderful song by one of my favorite bands, CAKE, was the single from their album Comfort Eagle. I thought I would share it with you. Because, you know, Sharing is caring.

The King of Siam and his Many Adventures

Three photos of me that i uploaded through the glorious program called picasa. Obviously, I hit the "warmify" button on these and "tint" on the last one. It just makes everything so much more cute.

1. Me looking like a true taoist thinker in a gazebo-ish thing in Kew Gardens, London.
2. The R in Disneyland California.
3. The swing ride in Dyreparken, Kristiansand.

Ps. Notice the face on that wheel.

The Earth Spins Around and Around and Around...

Hello dear children.

It is currently 9:19 pm on the 11th of April. It's a Saturday. The noisy sounds of At the Drive-In contrasts well against the otherwise boring spring night.

It's dark outside, which is interesting, because I like the idea that on the other side of the earth, the sun is shining and people are out and about. Isn't that a weird fact? I mean really think it. Everything on earth is constantly spinning because the earth it's self is spinning. Why does it spin? I don't know. Don't you think that it should be important to learn why the earth spins? I was never taught this in school. I am happy that I am old enough not to freak out to realize this well known fact.

If i were 5 and actually thought about it, I'm not sure how I would react. I would probably wonder that if I walked straight forward at the speed that the earth spins for 24 hours, would i ever move? Unfortunately, i know this answer to this question.

The earth spins. All the time. Forever.
Wow.

Am I just easily impressed or fascinated by simple and childish thoughts? Probably.
